Manuel Pablo Lorenzo - Triptych

Completed!

I am thrilled with the way this set turned out. But only you can be the judge. Here are a couple of images and a walk around video.

Update 3 September

Fabricating and finishing the mild steel backs. Grinding welds; back cutouts; surface preparation; applying chemical patina; burning in blacksmith's wax.
Update 25 August
Two sanded and one more to go. I am thrilled with the way this set is turning out. The figure of the grain and color is much better than I was even hoping for. This clip shows me wiping some water on to one of the sanded pieces to give you a better representation of what they will look like when they are oiled and waxed.

Milling carving blanks and rough carving:

Getting logs home:

Material sourcing success!

I sourced these logs from a private lot at 202 N Lakeside Drive, Fergus Falls, Otter Tail County, MN. The tree had been a threat to fall on adjacent homes. This tree was just over 100 years old and very likely one of the first trees to grow after the tornado in 1919 that devastated this area of Fergus Falls around Lake Alice.

I didn't have far to go:
